coming clean :: day one hundred forty five

I'm back! I haven't decided whether to stay with the current format, or to try something else. Thoughts?

Workouts: lunch @ gym (2 mile jog + stretch + 4 x (30 crunches + 50 skips)) + evening @ pool (3,500 SCY)

No A/C! So I took it easy and decided to cut the jog short. I have no problems sweating my butt off outdoors, but indoors, well... that just seems wrong!

Just another pace workout. :: yawn :: Whose idea was it to sign up for a distance meet?!!

Coming Clean:

face: Tea Tree and Charcoal Natural Complexion by
Country Heart Gifts

hair: Ultimate Shine Solid Shampoo by
Lush

If this wasn't a gift, I might've never tried a shampoo bar. I'm glad I did!

body: Gateau de Citron by
Savor

Naughty Points: 2 Big Island Candies brownies

Another gift! :: wink :: To your left, we have the golden mac nut blondie. Also included in the assortment were dark choco mac nut brownies and dark choco coconut brownies. I'd never had a coconut brownie before!

With the return of my 'Coming Clean' posts, I've decided not to buy any more 'naughty points' that can't be consumed at time of purchase. I hope this plan doesn't backfire on me!

project wonderful :: happy easter

I just wanted to take a brief moment to give a hippity-hoppity "Hello" and "Happy Easter" to my long-term blog sponsors. I am taking a wee break from Project Wonderful, but hope to be back soon. Thank you for your continued support!

"so, how do i look?"

I'm not a fan of the TV show, but I've always wanted to say that :: wink ::

I added LinkedWithin to my blog earlier today. It shows up at the end of the most recent post, as well as any individual page you view on this blog. What do you think? Like it? Hate it? Don't care?

Yes, I know a poll would be much easier to handle this sort of thing. But I've already exceeded my daily technological allowance! :: hee ::

project wonderful :: my blog sponsors

I'd like to take a brief moment to personally thank my current, long-term blog sponsors. This one includes a special "Hiya!" to one of my Etsy and dailymile buddies, Mannie of Mannie Mandible. In alphabetical order:

Wanna join in on the Project Wonderful fun? Whether it be on the left- or right-hand side adboxes, you know you'll be in great company!

project wonderful :: new ad box... coming soon

Empty George

A big "thank you" to my current, long-term blog sponsors (in alphabetical order)!

And a quick note to those who are advertising on the right-hand side... I hope you return when I re-do this ad box within the next few days.

coming clean :: once a slacker, always a slacker?

It usually takes about a week after returning from vacay for things to run at their usual pace again, so I'm going to blame jetlag, not laziness, for my lack of posting. If you're curious about my workouts over the past week or so, they're up on dailymile. That's about all the online activity I can handle at the mo. I hope to be able to add the 'coming clean' elements here over the next week or so. Until then...!

project wonderful

I recently set up Project Wonderful, one ad box on each side of my blog. The ads on the top left* won't blink at you, but the ones on the bottom right will. I've hand-picked my sponsors, and hope you visit their websites!

From time to time, I plan to do mini-features on my faithful sponsors. It's the least I can do to thank them for choosing my blog!

Once I get my Etsy store up-and-running again, I'll re-do the bottom right one and possibly "tier" the ad boxes. Any advice on how to go about doing this?

* I just re-did the layout on this one, and apologize for not contacting my sponsors before doing so.

do you Feedjit?

I posed this question on the Etsy forums the other day, but it got buried pretty quickly... So here it is again:

just out of curiousity, do you know if visitors recorded on the feedjit map ever disappear? some of my international flags have mysteriously disappeared :(
My Feedjit widget is located at the bottom of the righthand column. It does say 'Recent Visitors'. Did I just answer my own question?

Hmm... I really like the instant gratification it provides and way it looks, but I might have to permanently replace Feedjit with ClustrMaps. It's been running at the very bottom. Keep scrolling, keep scrolling... there it is! Not all visits seem to be recorded, but Clustrmaps can be set to archive only once a year!

HTMilLiterate

My HTML brain cells (perhaps that should be cell, singular) have gotten quite a workout this week! As if creating an Etsy store, website and Flickr account weren't enough, I've been making upgrades to this pretty little thing! To make room for my newly-acquired love of widgets, I've added a 3rd column*! By doing so, I am now able to wedge the meat of my blog between two slices of widgets-filled bread.

You might've also noticed I'm running Feedjit (on the bottom right-hand side) and Clustrmaps (at the bottom). I can't decide which one to keep. Any thoughts? Hmm... maybe it's time for a poll?!!

* Many thanks to the kind people in the Etsy forums for sharing their experiences and phydeaux3 for the
tutorial!

the long & winding road

While I still have a long ways to go, the past few weeks have been extremely busy... but very educational!
